This revered Olmsted parks and parkways system faces a broad range of historic integrity and contemporary functionality issues that require innovative thinking in addressing the City's needs. The 2006 Parkways Bicycle Trail Plan epitomizes the approach of sound stewardship and robust current and future use. Adaptation to accommodate bicycle paths along two historic, scenic parkways advancing, as recommended, toward sustainable multi-modal transportation. The Olmsted foundation and the scenic long views form the highpoint served as baselines to reshape the much altered and unstable Iroquois Park North Overlook, welcoming pedestrian access and scenic enjoyment, completed in 2016.Heritage Landscapes has contributed expertise to the interdisciplinary teams, and project awards affirm excellence.
