America's core cities are often blessed with a wealth of 19th and early 20th century public parks.
This legacy of public recreation grounds, provided to us by early philanthropists and visionary city officials, is faced with a series of issues including simple age and wear. In Pittsburgh, Louisville, Baltimore, Rochester and Buffalo, we have contributed to the rehabilitation and stewardship of these public treasures through ongoing professional relationships with clients and colleagues. We bring a wealth of real-world experience to these efforts that addresses planning and implementation in a variety of ways. In our recent work for the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, for example, we have engaged in an overall master plan, small and large project planning, hand-on volunteer training, construction document development and construction administration on over twenty projects in the past eight years. Heritage Landscapes is fortunate to work on multiple park and parkway planning and renewal projects aiding an urban park renaissance. |
