The everyday life of a public historic landscape relies on well-structured management and ongoing, properly staffed maintenance. As we work with the stewards of public historic places to renew valued landscapes attention to the projects details to provide durability and focus maintenance activities is kept in mind. When capital projects are undertaken Heritage Landscapes frequently develops an annual calendar of inspection and maintenance activities. In this section we highlight several projects where management structures were examined and recommendations made, staffing levels and skills were itemized and renewal efforts were completed with ongoing maintenance calendars. This focus is one aspect of our abiding interest in the both the improvement and sustainability of historic public landscapes. |
