Heritage Landscapes has led prize-winning rehabilitation efforts, designed exhibit collections and signage, and conducted historical research and developed planning reports for some of the nation's leading botanical gardens and conservatories.

Botanical gardens are institutions that grow and present plants for scientific study and for the education and enjoyment of visitors. Historic conservatories, located in parks and botanical gardens, are large glasshouses in which tropical plant collections can thrive. In several recent projects Heritage Landscapes has contributed to the renewal of historical botanical gardens and conservatories. For our Landscape History project at The New York Botanical Garden, we have made the wealth of documentation about the collections, planning, development and lands of this unique property accessible. For the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Garden in Olmsted-designed South Park, Buffalo, we worked with talented architects to devise a master plan for conservatory and gardens. We led a multi-disciplinary team to expand and renew The Druid Hill Park Palm House for Baltimoreans. This work brings more vibrant and interesting places forward for the visitor experience of valued historic landscapes and collections.
