Green and Parking at Kahn Bath House & Day Camp
Trenton, NJ

Heritage Landscapes continues efforts on this award winning project addressing a degraded asphalt parking lot at the iconic Bath House and Community Center using an approach that respects Kahn's realized work, and is informed by his unrealized landscape concepts for this property. Embracing the opportunity to organize uses in accord with proportional geometries and sympathetic details, a new Community Green; improved pedestrian circulation; reorganized drop-off; handicapped access; and parking with enhanced stormwater management is under way. Over 30 Columbia London Plane (Platanus x acerifolia ‘Columbia’) trees recently selected are to frame the large central Green and complement the 24 Skyline Honeylocust (Gleditsia triacanthos inermis 'Skyline') trees along the Bath House, planted in 2010. The Green and Parking construction project is targeted for completion in early summer 2012.

Joe Mlinarevice, Tuckahoe Nurseries and Peter Viteretto, Heritage Landscapes inspect the Columbia cultivar Plane tree/Platanus x acerifolia 'Columbia' for use at the Community Green.
